Grain Farming Industry Focus - Canada Edition

Canadian grain farming is a $7 billion industry and around 15,000 Canadian farmers grow grains as a primary source of income. An additional 60,000 grow grains for supplemental income or on-farm use. The industry is slightly concentrated: 15 percent of farms generate $250,000 or more in revenue, accounting for 75 percent of total farm production. However, no major companies dominate the industry.
