Pharmaceutical Manufacture and Sale Industry Focus - Canada Edition

Canada has about 430 pharmaceutical operations with combined annual revenue of about $12 billion. The industry is comprised of Canadian-owned firms, including Apotex, Sherman Delaware, and Valeant Pharmaceuticals, as well as branches of large multinational companies, including AstraZeneca, Merck, and Pfizer. Half of Canadian pharmaceutical companies are small, with fewer than 100 employees; only about 2 percent of establishments employ 500 or more.
