The Canadian residential construction industry includes about 65,000 companies with annual revenue of $90 billion. Large companies include Aecon, Lakeview Homes, Minto Developments, and Shane Homes. The industry is highly fragmented: about 90 percent of residential construction companies employ fewer than five. A majority of companies are privately owned.
