New Brunswick's economic growth outlook stable as a result of expense restraints due to continued recession weakened revenues; housing starts and sales forecasted to decline in 2009 and then recover in 2010 while home prices steadily increase.

• Province job growth rose 0.2% in September 2009 from a year ago; national job growth fell 2.1%.
• Province unemployment averaged 8.1% in September 2009; the national average was 8.4%.
• Average weekly earnings rose 2.0% to $754 in July 2009 from a year ago.
• Provincial revenue rose 1.5% in FY 2009 from the previous year.
• Exports fell 29.1% to $5.9 billion in the first seven months of 2009 from a year ago.
