Texas' employee confidence down due to more concerns over job security and ability to find new jobs; state economic recovery forecast to outpace nation with modest growth in first half of 2010; number of commercial real estate foreclosures grow.

• State job growth fell 2.8% in August 2009 from a year ago; national job growth fell 4.4%.
• State unemployment averaged 8.0% in August 2009; the national average was 9.7%
• Personal income fell 2.2% to $904 billion in Q2 2009 from a year ago.
• Tax revenue fell 12.3% in Q2 2009 from the previous year.
• Exports fell 24.2% to $70.3 billion in the first seven months of 2009 from a year ago.
• Venture capital investment in TX fell 74% to $74.1 million in Q2 2009 from a year ago.
